Quick Fix: iPhone Microphone and Headset Buttons don’t work

I recently had a problem with my iPhone headphones where neither the built in mic nor the headphone answer (or start/stop) button would work. I attributed the failure to a recent tumble which also crack my front glass along the bezel.

Now, thanks to a helpful blog post I was able to correct the problem. Seems like a rather large piece lint had made it’s way into the headphone jack and was blocking the plug. I would have never figured it out if it wasn’t for this helpful blog post. So I’ve linked it below and will leave the explanation to him:

How To Beat The Best Poker Playing AI In The World

So as preparation for desiging a Poker AI I decided to play against BluffBot, the world’s most advanced Poker AI. It only took me about 15 minutes to beat it heads up and here is the proof:

Seems like BluffBot has some rule that says never go all in on the flop when you are not about to lose (so you too can use this to your advantage by slowly taking the blinds form the pot). He will also folds 90+% of the time if you get him to bet a bit and then go all-in early. I did this until I had a dominant position and played normally, and beat him.

My First Knol

So a little earlier than I expected but I finished my first draft of my first ever Knol. I decided to stick to the basics of something I knew and went with a basic Maple tutorial. I hope to expand it and write more advanced Maple tutorials in the future. Anyway, click here to go to my first knol.

Ok so I am now officially trying to keep this up to date. I’ve decided I wanted to try and write a weekly article on something I know so I can contribute back to the internet community. I’d like to have my first article done by next Wednesday so if anyone stumbles across this they can have that to look forward to.

I’ve decided that I’m going to shift my efforts at TODO articles to knol for two reasons:

1.) It allows me to post to my site (through links) while being able to deliver information to more people (due to certain bandwidth constraints).

2.) I can get some real feedback from interested people

I’ll still posts small stuff here but my longer walkthroughs and stuff will be going up on Knol and hopefully getting some more attention.

Kitten Vs. Ferret (Part 1 — 6 Weeks)

My roommate just got a kitten and we decided to allow it to interact with our ferrets. Seems that it likes to have a good tussle with my ferret Jean-Luc. Right now it’s not much of a challenge, but should be interesting to see what happens when the cat gets older. Here is part 1 of a series I’ll be updating every few weeks.
